Cloth Diapering Education and support

When I tell people I cloth diaper, I get a lot of funny reactions. I’m called crazy, I’m told I must be a super mom, I’m told it’s gross, unthinkable, dirty, messy, and that my washing machine must be ruined.

WRONG!

I promise cloth diapering is not as scary as you think it is. In fact, the opposite. Plastic diapers have only been in existence since 1979, and most families did not begin using them until the mid 1980’s. And believe me, cloth diapers have come a long way!

I originally chose to cloth diaper for environmental reasons in my goal to parent as sustainably as possible. I then learned that there are so many more benefits to cloth than just reducing your carbon footprint.

  • It’s frugal and you’ll never have to run out for diapers

  • It’s ADORABLE

  • It’s pretty easy

  • You won’t contaminate local water sources, because poop will go into the septic system where it belongs, the only appropriate place for human waste

  • It is literally an act of anti-racism, as contaminated water sources overwhelmingly affect communities of color.

  • It regulates heat for boys, which can affect scrotal temperatures

  • It keeps yeast from growing in girls

  • Your baby won’t be exposed to dioxins that are linked to long-term health conditions and cancers

  • It is soft and comfortable for babies

  • Cloth, unlike plastic, allows for air flow reducing and eradicating of diaper rash

  • You can say goodbye to blowouts

  • It doesn’t smell nearly as bad, because you don’t have waste interacting with chemicals, giving off that awful diaper smell

  • Potty training is easier and happens earlier

I’m passionate about cloth diapering and helping families cloth diaper successfully and as cheaply as possible. I give classes in the community and I do private instruction and offer start up packages.
