Hi, I’m Jessica! I’m a DONA International trained birth doula. I’m also a childbirth, new parent, & cloth diapering educator, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and psychotherapist who specializes in trauma and perinatal mood disorders. I have been a practicing doula and psychotherapist since 2013.
I created Bird &Bee Birth Services because I believe in birth and reproductive justice for all birthing people. It it is my honor to protect the dignity and rights of all birthing people. I believe it is possible to birth without fear and have fulfilling birth, postpartum, and parenting experiences with the right amount of support. We should feel empowered to use our intuition and strength as we bring new life into the world and raise confident and mindful people that will go on to create a more just world. I am extremely passionate about my role as a doula, educator, therapist, and as the owner of Bird & Bee. I will ensure you are provided with unwavering physical and emotional support, education, and the tools you need to have a successful and dignified journey.
Additional Credentials:
I have additional training in Spinning Babies and Pelvic Dynamics, Fetal Positioning, and Obstetric Bias in Childbirth. I trained as a Midwifery Assistant at The Farm Midwifery Center in Summertown, Tennessee. I’m a Perinatal Mental Health Specialist. I trained at the Seleni Institute for Maternal Mental Health and Postpartum Support International in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, grief, and loss.
Jessica received her B.A. in Women and Gender Studies at Hunter College and her Masters in Social Work at The Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College in New York City. She runs a private psychotherapy practice in Orange, CA.
