"The Bee" Birth Doula Package:

Includes:

Free cONSULTATION:

Prior to hire we should meet to interview one another. I think it is very important that we be comfortable with one another, as we will be spending such an important day and intimate experience. The doula or doula team you hire should make you feel very comfortable! This interview can take place over the phone, via skype, or in a public location. We will discuss why you are seeking a doula, your expectations, and what type of services you are looking for.

ON CALL/UNLIMITED SUPPORT:

From the date of hire, we are available to you to answer questions and support you via text, email, and phone. Additionally a doula will be on call for you 24/7 from 37 weeks until the time of your birth.

PRENATAL VISIT 1 + FULL CHILDBIRTH EDUCATION CLASS + “YOUR BIRTH EXPERIENCE” PARENT GUIDE (4.5 HOUR appointment)

This visit takes place in your home unless otherwise specified around the 30th to 32nd week of pregnancy and should be scheduled on a Sunday due to the length of the class and prenatal visit. We will start with the childbirth education course, which will include a comprehensive birth planning workshop, after which we build your birth plan together. During the second half of the appointment we will shift to the prenatal visit and  discuss how your pregnancy is going, your wishes and desires, and get to know one another.

PRENATAL VISIT 2 + PRENATAL YOGA AND BREATH INSTRUCTION

This visit takes place in your home unless otherwise specified around the 35th to 37th week of pregnancy. We will discuss your birth plan, do a follow up on the education course, discuss any updates, practice birth positions, rebozo use, and get to know one another some more. For the second portion of the class, you will be led in a prenatal yoga and breath instruction. This prenatal yoga routine can be used up until you deliver for relaxation and positioning preparation.

LABOR AND DELIVERY: (UNLIMITED)

We will come to your home or to the hospital (whichever you wish) when your contractions become regular and are 4-5 minutes apart. We ask that you contact us as soon as you begin having contractions in early labor so we may prepare for your active labor. We will give you unlimited support throughout your labor and delivery and stay up to two hours after your delivery, depending on your needs.

Back up support:

A back-up doula will also be on call throughout the on call period in the event of an emergency that prevents us from being at your birth, such as a serious illness, hospitalization, or emergency on my part.

PostPartum Visit:

We like to meet about one week after your delivery to offer additional support to you and process your birth with you.

Referrals:

You will be given a complimentary packet of trusted referrals upon hire. However, if there is a service you're interested in that is not included in the packet, we are happy to provide you with appropriate referrals throughout your pregnancy and in your postpartum period.

Ongoing Support:

Once we are connected, we are willing to always be a support to you in times of need with your infant. We are happy to keep in touch with you, work with you in future births, and provide ongoing referrals.

What we DO NOT provide:

We do not:

  • check cervical dilation
  • offer clinical advice
  • do vaginal exams
  • advise you when to go to the hospital
  • take blood pressure or temperature
  • use fetal heart rate monitors
  • administer medications.

As doulas, we perform no clinical tasks. We cannot drive you to the hospital in your vehicle or ours for liability reasons. We do not make any decisions for you, medical or otherwise. Our primary role as your doula is to provide physical and emotional support, guidance, information, and advocacy.
